How many hours does my child need?

Each child is different and you will know your child best! However, we recommend at least one hour per week to see rapid improvements in their confidence, knowledge and grades.

What should I be doing to help prepare my child for the 11+?

Ensure that your child attends their private tuition each week with a quiet and distraction free workspace. Support them with the homework and learning tasks set from their tutor and we would also recommend starting regular practice papers for around a year before the exam. There are lots of different books available to support 11+ practice at home, so make sure that the ones you use are matched closely to the specific 11+ that your child is going to take.

My child isn’t being pushed enough at school, can tutoring help?

Yes, definitely! Private tuition really enables the child to reach their full potential. Due to the one-to-one nature of our sessions, the teacher really gets to know your child incredibly well and will make sure that the sessions are not only tailored to fill any gaps but that they also notice and enhance any gifts or talents that your child may be harbouring.

My child isn’t reaching age related expectations, can tutoring help?

Yes, of course! One of the main blessings of private tuition is that it is tailored exactly to your child’s learning needs. This means that the tutor will assess your child and ensure that all learning gaps are consistently filled to support them moving towards reaching ‘age related expectations’ and beyond.

What age should my child start private tuition?

Again, each child is different and you will know when it feels right for your child. We have children start with us from pre-school all the way through to secondary school pupils.  For the 11+, we recommend at least a full year of private tuition.

When should my child do their homework?

Try to establish a routine that works for you and your family. Test out a few appropriate times for homework and see which one your child responds well to. Once chosen, establish this as part of their weekly routine.

What’s included within the tuition price?

A full hour of private, one-to-one, bespoke teaching and related homework (if desired). Our classes also come with a personal login for an online learning programme which can be used as little or as much as required. This platform has access to learning activities for all primary aged subjects including the 11+. It also allows your tutor to login and see your progress to help further inform their planning for your sessions.
